We headed out again this morning at 9:00 in the bus. We had a couple of no shows where we were waiting outside the property but the person who was to supposed to open it did not show up. We checked half a dozen properties in a Town called Ballenita. I am sure it has lots of potential but it is way too industrial for my taste. All the ocean views were filled with oil tankers and inland was telecommunications towers. We visited several ocean front properties around Montanita. Once again a lot of potential but a bit too much fixing up that needed to be done. Not my inclination at all.
Beautiful areas, both on the beach and up in the hills with spectacular views of the ocean. This was a favorite of ours, however the location was a bit remote and one would need a vehicle to be able to live comfortably. Again not something I would want to do.
We had lunch in Montanita, it was very cool. Apparently it is the hippy/surfing Capital of Ecuador. It is also where we are spending our last week here, very excited about that.
Finished the day with a long bus ride back to Salinas. Went to dinner at a fantastic restaurant called Blue. Food was great and service was excellent. Edison, one of the local real estate guys joined seven of us for the meal and provided some great insight into the local scene.
