More from Fiji

Had some very unusual light during a sunset the other night. Made all the better with the inclusion of a rainbow.

We have experienced a variety of weather conditions over the last couple of weeks. Some of which resulted in some pretty weird colours at sunset, as seen above. There was also a bit of celestial excitement recently when a meteor shower was supposed to be visible all around the world. I did my research and set up to capture some images of these lights passing through the sky. Well, I apparently was set up in the wrong direction. However it did provide the chance to put together a time lapse of the night sky. I am pretty happy with this first attempt at celestial photography even if I didn’t get what I was initially planning on.

I addition to keeping up on the yard work I keep an eye out for interesting photo ops around the property.

This is one of the three kingfishers we see nearly every day. They are good enough to pose on the power line on occasion.
This little fellow wanted to get a closer look at what I was doing on the computer.
I mentioned yard work earlier. Part of that is helping cultivate our crop of pumpkins. It is incredible the speed at which everything grows here. We are also enjoying oranges, pineapple, and limes currently in addition to the non-stop supply of papaya and bananas.
We have a variety of different sized geckos creeping around the house. This one was reviewing our shopping receipt.
It is easy to find Wayan. He never strays far from Karen.
For pure entertainment I highly recommend trying to get a festive photo of three excited hounds and a string of garland. This is as good as it got.
