There is something interesting about anniversary dates. It just seems to prompt memories and thoughts on how you ended up where you currently are, and that brings us to these pondering’s. It has been five years since we cut loose the tether and set sail on our great adventure. I did an anniversary post last year so I won’t rehash that info, though if you are interested you can check it out. We have been very busy in the last year, going from Fuji, to New Zealand, and rounding out the year here in Australia.

Montage Of Pets
We have added 14 house sits to our CV which included 22 dogs, 4 cats, 41 birds (including 4 chickens), and a number of fish in the last year.

As we hit our stride of travelling full time we have come to the realization that we quite like this lifestyle….a lot. Though it does not come without it’s challenges. For me the greatest challenge that has revealed itself has been physical fitness. I have always enjoyed working out and running. However the year in SE Asia had one negative result and that was putting me off running. The heat and humidity was simply greater than my motivation. So the ongoing battle these days is working at getting back into that routine. But I shall persevere, and headway is being made.

Stan the Van
More important than the challenges though, are the things we are thankful for. In the last year it was people that caused us to be thankful. Without the incredible generosity of our cousins Anne and Mike in New Zealand we would have only been able to scratch the surface of that magnificent country. But with access to Stan the Van and camping gear we were able to discover some beautiful corners of the country. Thanks again Anne and Mike.
Bryce and Peter
The other person who has had an enormous effect on our travels has been our good friend Bryce. He has facilitated a number of issues for us in Australia that have allowed us to travel about with greater freedom. In addition a great cheerleader in my battle with exercise motivation. Thanks for never giving up.
Diving montage
We have been incredibly fortunate to be able to indulge our love of diving nearly everywhere we have travelled since starting this adventure. The Blue Hole, Belize, Roatan, The Great Barrier Reef, The Great Australian Bight, Vietnam, Bali, Thailand, Malaysia, Panama, Costa Rica, and Hawaii.
Happy New Years
One of the other pleasures of travel is bringing in the New Year in new locations. Whether sun sets in Costa Rica and Fiji. Fireworks in Brisbane and Hong Kong, or something as low key as a midnight swim in Belize. We have been fortunate to ring in the New Year in some beautiful locations.
Sunset Beach Walk
As we look back with wonderful memories we also can hardly contain ourselves over our excitement of what is yet to come. The next year is full of new plans and adventures. We look forward to walking on many more new beaches and maybe even revisiting some others we are familiar with.

Welcome to our travel blog. Have you ever wondered what it would be like to say, "I'm out of here?" Well we did, and in 2013 we made it a reality. We sold or gave away all of our possessions other than what fit in our luggage and we set off on an endless adventure. Part of our goal is to share our experiences with others and hopefully provide some information, motivation, or just a moments escape. The general idea was to look for a place that would be ideal to settle down in. However in the meantime it is about experiencing life in different countries amongst different cultures and learning how to understand and appreciate each other. A large part of our time is spent housesitting which provides an excellent opportunity to experience more of the "normal" neighbourhoods as opposed to the tourist locales. Though we make sure to enjoy those as well. So through plenty of photographs and a running commentary come and share with us our life on the road.

Peter and Karen, Thanks. Very touching.

I have no words atm. Strange for me. Might express the truth of the moment for me.

    Thank you.

    Bryce.
