House Sitting Serendipity

As we return to Australia for another year we are incredibly excited to be house sitting across this amazing nation. Our first house sit is a repeat sitting in the beautiful city of Albury, and we love it. One of the many serendipities of this nomadic lifestyle is you are allowed the opportunity to try different experiences. Some of these can be as simple as making your own home made pasta. So when we saw that this home had a pasta maker and were invited to give it a go, well, here it goes.

The Beginning
I had no idea pasta was so basic. Flour and eggs.

To those of you who were exposed to this in your lives this is probably no big deal. But to those of us who have never tried it, it is somewhat magical.

Pasta Machine
Thank goodness for simple straight forward instructions as we figured out the first steps of creating the pasta.
Drying Time
Once we sussed out the cutter we were in business and had the dough shaped, cut, and drying in no time.
Cooking Time
About 10 minutes of boiling and things started to look good. Perhaps we will make it thinner next time.
Dinner Time
Other than being a little bit thicker than we prefer, our first experience at pasta making was a total success, and delicious.

If you have never made pasta I can honestly say that if you ever get the chance, give it a go. It is relativity quick, simple, and fun. Don’t forget the wine.
