The two most outstanding aspects of our newest location so far, is the sunsets and the birds. Being on the west coast, of course, pretty well guarantees a number of gorgeous sunsets every week. One of our favourite evening activities is to take the dog for a walk along the waterfront and enjoy the setting sun.

Perth Skyline
During a walk around Lake Monger the Perth skyline made a nice backdrop for the Black Swans and assorted waterfowl enjoying the sunshine.

We are lucky enough to be doing a house sit that has a wonderful dog, but also an absolute menagerie of birds. But the great thing about this area is the assortment of wild birds all around us as well.

New Holland Honeyeater
We have done a couple of trips to Yanchep National Park and have been treated to a number of wonderful sights. This New Holland Honeyeater was keeping an eye on us.
Kangeroos and Birds
The kangaroos have learned to put up with humans and birds in the National Park.

We were very fortunate to hear about a Black Cockatoo release being done in the Park. A couple of wild animal rehabilitation groups were releasing some of these birds back to the wild.

Fly Free!!!
Karen was very fortunate to be able to help out by opening one of the cages to release the birds. It was pretty cool to see the volunteers who had been involved in the rehabilitation process witness the positive results of their work.
Black Cockatoos
Some of the Black Cockatoos getting their bearings after being released.
28 Parrot
These beauties kept us company while we were waiting for the release.
Contemplating Life
The wonder of nature is fantastic. We look forward to seeing what else the region has to share.
