One of the unexpected joys of house sitting in Adelaide at this time of year is the incredible display of flowers. I am very aware that many areas in the world have great flowers come spring. However this is where we are, and they are wonderful. The above photo is the view out our bedroom window each morning. A great way to start the day.

Yellow Theme
Sometimes it is the power of the colour
And other times it is the mixture of those colours as you look down the block.

As we usually go out for a couple of outings a day around the neighbourhood it is impressive to see how the people in this area take pride in their yards.

Flower Power
Sometimes it is a simple edging around the yard.
And others, it is the rather formal presentation of bushes and roses.
Love the Flowers
This blending of the private property onto a public pathway is a beautiful example of residents sharing the beauty of their yards.

Thank you to all gardeners who share their gardens with the public.

Welcome to our travel blog. Have you ever wondered what it would be like to say, "I'm out of here?" Well we did, and in 2013 we made it a reality. We sold or gave away all of our possessions other than what fit in our luggage and we set off on an endless adventure. Part of our goal is to share our experiences with others and hopefully provide some information, motivation, or just a moments escape. The general idea was to look for a place that would be ideal to settle down in. However in the meantime it is about experiencing life in different countries amongst different cultures and learning how to understand and appreciate each other. A large part of our time is spent housesitting which provides an excellent opportunity to experience more of the "normal" neighbourhoods as opposed to the tourist locales. Though we make sure to enjoy those as well. So through plenty of photographs and a running commentary come and share with us our life on the road.
