Drinks in the Clouds

Ground Level Entrance
On our final night in Singapore we made our way to the highest rooftop bar in the world, 1 Altitude.
Elevator to the Clouds
1 Altitude is on the 63rd floor and looks out over Singapore in all directions. The $35 ticket gets you to the highest bar in the world and gives you two drinks as well. A heck of a deal if I do say so myself.
Sunset
After a rather apocalyptic looking sunset we relaxed and waited for the 8:30 light show from the Marina Bay Sands.
1 Altitude Bar
A very pleasant surprise at the top was the friendly bar staff and excellent drinks that awaited us.

Bearing in mind that the Marina Bay Sands is a 200 metre tall building, we had a grand view of the light show they put on a couple of times every night. Yes it sucks that they charge you to go up, but seriously, highest bar in the world and two quality cocktails for $35. That is a deal you simply cannot pass up. Enjoy the short video we captured of the show, and the next time. you are in Singapore get yourself up there and enjoy it for yourself.

Thank you Singapore.

Welcome to our travel blog. Have you ever wondered what it would be like to say, "I'm out of here?" Well we did, and in 2013 we made it a reality. We sold or gave away all of our possessions other than what fit in our luggage and we set off on an endless adventure. Part of our goal is to share our experiences with others and hopefully provide some information, motivation, or just a moments escape. The general idea was to look for a place that would be ideal to settle down in. However in the meantime it is about experiencing life in different countries amongst different cultures and learning how to understand and appreciate each other. A large part of our time is spent housesitting which provides an excellent opportunity to experience more of the "normal" neighbourhoods as opposed to the tourist locales. Though we make sure to enjoy those as well. So through plenty of photographs and a running commentary come and share with us our life on the road.
