Once we arrived on Jeju Island for our 4 week house sit we started checking out in more detail what we might do while we were here. As it turns out there is a fairly healthy diving community and to top it off dives are reasonably priced, so we were in.
We ended up doing a couple of days of diving with a husband and wife company, MJ Jeju Diving Club.I don’t know if it was because we were diving in the shoulder season, or if it is always this way, but both days it was just 4 clients and two dive masters. We ended up diving with both MJ and Kim on the two different days and they were both great. The pace and depth were catered perfectly to our experience level. As a point of clarification, the two in the photo are not MJ and Kim, they were the other two divers on our first day.Loading up at the shop for the 5 minute drive to the harbour. The next wonderful discovery about diving here was the boats. They are big, stable, and easy to move around on. Because the ride to the dive sites is only about 5 minutes you get fully geared up at the harbour. So easy, especially with hot and cool running water readily available.Changing over tanks for our second dive at Seopseom Island.
This was also the first time I really got a chance to use the new camera I have acquired for diving. Even though I am still learning to get the most out of it this DJI Osmo Action Pro 5 is outstanding. The true colour rendition at depth is incredible. In both videos and the still photos I have done no colour enhancement or correction.
There was a huge number of scorpion and rock fish on all our dives. Can you find the eyes on this scorpion fish? The size of this flounder was quite impressive.
I did post this first dive video on my Facebook page last week, but in case you missed it.
This second video was from our second day of diving on Seopseom Island.
We loved our time diving on Jeju Island. It has gotten us warmed up and ready for a bunch of diving we have planned over the next few weeks. Stay tuned.
